December 21st, 2012, The Maya Calendar.

Of course it is getting closer to December 21, 2012 and when some people think the world is going to end.  I enjoyed the cartoon of one Maya saying to the other, someone is gonna be freaked out by this in a few centuries.

It is the same fear as the end of 1999 with Y2K.  I liked what some of my friends passed around on Facebook and I joined in.  If you think the world is going to end, give all your worldly goods to me.  We’ve had no takers.  :)

The entire thing just means the end of an era, not the planet, but there is no convincing some people.

Also, for you baseball fans out there, there is one important thing.  The Chicago Cubs did NOT win the World Series this year.  If they had, THEN I might be scanning the skies for the Four Horsemen.

The 21st of December is a week from Friday.  Calling in would be tough.  This is Mike Charton, and I am calling in because the world ended?  Would I get through?  Would I be able to call.

When I wake up at four a.m. on that morning, I will know the world is still there and I have to get up for the bus and go to work.

And life goes on, and the band played on.

About tucsonmike

I am originally from Brooklyn, New York and now live in Tucson, Arizona. I have discovered a passion for writing. My first article (on travel) came out in January and my first book is coming out later this year. It is about Sherlock Holmes nemesis Professor Moriarty from Moriarty's point of view. I already have budding sequels. I have some non fiction material I am working on and also coach people in improving their public speaking.
