Six Sentence Sunday, November 20th, 2011.

Barbara waved her hand in a grand gesture   “Here is an appropriate palatial home for moi.”

Jimmy laughed while shaking his head.  “I don’t think the French government will see it that way, or the ghost of King Louis XIV. “

“That’s narrow minded of them,” Barbara said with mock seriousness.  “Maybe I could’ve replaced the Marquess de Montespan as the King’s main mistress.”

Jimmy laughed again.  “I love alternative history.  You could’ve been like Sally Hemings to Thomas Jefferson.”

Barbara looked up at him an narrowed her eyes.  “I am nobody’s slave!”  The Southern accent came out strong.

Jimmy was backpedaling like a Red Sox centerfielder on a deep fly ball. “Sorry, didn’t mean it THAT way.”
