In one of the Bruno Chief of Police books he states that Rugby can expose national characteristics.
He teaches the young people of St. Denis the game. Here are some of his takes on national play.
England: Grind it out in the mud. Means if the English like American football, they like smash mouth rivalries. Think Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers.
Wales: The quick back running up the field.
Scotland: The charge at the enemy. Think Pickett’s Confederates at Cemetery Ridge at Gettysburg.
Ireland: Playing by stealth. Bruno went such is similar for France.
I wonder where New Zealand’s All Blacks and South Africa’s Springboks would fall in this?

So there is your sociological lesson, thanks to Bruno.
