Had breakfast in Panera Bread, then went into Horton Plaza and went to find my wife Elaine a shawl.  Well day two of San Diego, it’s off to the San Diego Zoo.

Back on the number seven bus, had the same driver as yesterday.  The most uncommunicative I’ve ever met.  Unhelpful, didn’t answer questions or let people off the back door of the bus.

I was in the zoo many years ago.  It’s huge and hilly.  I enjoy zoos.  I was kept busy pushing Elaine around in a rented wheelchair.  The staff in the zoo are very nice and very helpful.  It was a beautiful day to be out.

Saw some of the big cats, the primates, pandas, and the insect exhibit.  Rode the sky tram round trip, which gives you an overview.

The Westgate Hotel always seems empty.  Very quiet and very dignified.  I like the Romanian woman who is on the front desk at night.  I impressed her with my one word of Romanian, multimesc.  (Means thank you).

The bus ride back was jammed.  We were making jokes about renting space.
