I enjoy shows done by Michael Wood and his books, such as Conquistadors.  Last night, I watched the first two parts of the story of England in the village of Kibworth last night.

Kibworth was chosen, because it is right in the middle of England; in Leicestershire.  The county seat, Leicester is six miles away.

The village is first mentioned in William the Conquerer‘s Domesday Book in 1786.  The local people dug through the village and found items back to Celtic Britain.  DNA is showing Celtic, Anglo-Saxon and Norse strains.  The others didn’t move, unlike my previous post of there goes the neighborhood.

I am looking forward to next Tuesday and the next episode.
