Some wanted to make him our king. He said, “No, we just fought to get rid of one.” There was no precedent for what he was doing. He had to set the tone for what the office of President of the United States would be.
If George Washington is our father, what can we learn from this? Service without any thought of reward. Giving up your own desires for the common good of society; possibly losing your own life in the end.
Where has this gone and can we get it back? Have we betrayed our father?
