Casinos in Coney Island?

This was in the New York Daily News three days ago.  I grew up in Brooklyn and Coney Island was part of that.  Now, I’m reading Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz wants to bring casino gambling to Coney Island.

The history of Coney Island for the past century has involved entertainment of some sort.  I am removed enough, so I’m not sure what New York state law is concerning casino gambling, but a silly thought just went through my mind.  Marty Markowitz is going to turn Coney Island into a Native American reservation.

Citizens of Coney Island.  You will now have your DNA tested for Native American ancestry.  We are going to get this casino, by golly!

More massive subway lines will now connect Coney Island to Atlantic Yards.  You can attend a Brooklyn Nets game, then get on the Super Express to Coney Island to gamble and dance the night away.  Flatbush Smashbush, we can knock down some houses for this high paying express train.

Is the new Coney Island tribe gonna be called the Canarsie Indians?  Inquiring minds wanna know.
