English: Confederate General Robert E. Lee poses in a late April 1865( http://www.archives.gov/research/civil-war/photos/#portraits ) portrait taken by Mathew Brady in Richmond, Virginia. Lee’s surrender to Union General Ulysses S. Grant at Appomattox Court House on 9 April 1865, soon before this portrait was taken, marked the end of the American Civil War. You thought the South lost at Appomattox, when General Lee surrendered to General Grant.  (Some say Lee didn’t surrender, Grant stole his sword and Lee was too much of a gentleman to ask for it back).

You thought the Union was lording it over the South.  A while ago, I wrote a silly piece about Country Singers taking over the country.

Well the Yankees have met their match.  My friend, Virginia writer Nancy Naigle has unleashed the South’s ultimate weapon.  Who needs Stonewall Jackson?  Nancy has the Southern Grannies.

The North wont know what hit it.  Go git ’em, Nancy.
