The New Kids on the Border.

Thursday night, the head of the Border Patrol union was on the PBS Nightly News Hour.  He was speaking about how many of the men can’t be deployed because they have to cook and take care of the shelters.

Instead of the group The New Kids on The Block, these are the New Kids on the Border.` Many are not kids.  Many are in gangs in Central America.

I just finished reading a book by Ray Suarez of PBS, discussing five hundred years of Latinos in North America.  It is a varied experience.  Some were in New Mexico, before Plymouth Rock.  I get that.

I’m not against immigration.  The United States is a nation of immigrants and needs immigrants for fresh ideas.

My friend Anastase came here as a refugee.  If you can genuinely prove you are in danger, you can apply for asylum.

Otherwise, your first act here, is breaking the law.  On a simple level, it’s the equivalent of someone coming to your home uninvited and never leaving.  Don’t do it.  I have the right to allow who I want in my house.
